WHAT WE DID IN CLASS TODAY:
We discussed the connotations of "human" and "machine." We then watched the assembly line clip from Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times. We discussed how Chaplin's critique of machines and society is similar to Wordsworth's. We then discussed the strengths and weakness of man and machine in preparation for our discussion of "The City" and "The Exiles."
HOMEWORK:
Read "The Fox and the Forest," "The Fire Balloons," "The Other Foot," and "The Concrete Mixer."
