WHAT WE DID IN CLASS:
We wrapped up our discussion of "The City" by determining the message or theme of the story. We then discussed parables and looked at a few flash versions of Aesop's Fables. Finally, pairs of students designed cartoon parables based on one of three Bradbury stories: "The Other Foot," "The Concrete Mixer," and "The Fox and the Forest."
HOMEWORK:
Reread "Zero Hour" and keep reading your independent reading book. You will need Demian by Herman Hesse on Tuesday. If you still need to buy it, make sure you are buying the Roloff and Lebeck translation with the introduction by Thomas Mann.
