What we did in class today: We reviewed the assassination of Macduff's family in 4.2 and Macduff's reaction in 4.3. We also discussed the position of women in Macbeth's world - are they helpless little birds, defensive birds, or birds of prey?

Homework: Study 5.1 in Macbeth

The Absence Files

When you have returned from an absence, this file will have all the handouts and info you may have missed.

1. Look for the dates you have missed on the folder tabs. In each of the folders, you will find a handout with you name on it. Take that handout. Be sure you are grabbing the folders for your period.

2. You have the number of days you missed to complete any assignments you have missed. If you have specific questions for me about the work you missed, you may stay after class or you may consult me during lunch in this classroom.

3. Turn in your completed work to the file boxes labeled late/make up work for your period.

4. Check the “Do Now” notebook for any additional assignments/work. Please don’t remove the pages from the “Do Now” notebook. You can write down the work or you can take a photo. You should complete the “Do Now” work on your own time. The “Do Now” notebook can be found in the bin on top of the late/make-up work file boxes.

Late Work and Revisions

Revised Essays

Students will be allowed to resubmit a writing assignment if their initial grade was a D or an F. Before submitting the revision, a student must meet with me after school to discuss the plan for revision.

Revised assignments must be submitted within one week of the return of the original assignment.

LATE WORK:

I will accept late homework for half-credit if submitted the day after it was due and if we have not reviewed the answers in class.

For long-term assignments(essays, projects, etc.), I will accept them up until the last two weeks of the semester.

The message here: Students may not opt out of the "big assignments."
