Today we discussed Dana's development over the course of the book. In groups, students discussed the following questions:
1. Dana is stranded in the past for 1 year, Kevin for 5 years. Why do you think Butler gives Kevin more time in the past?
2. What is the significance of Dana's final injury? Explain.
Homework: Compare and contrast Dana's two working lives, as a employee of a casual labor agency in 1976 California and as a slave on the Weylin Plantation in 1815 Maryland.
