10HP

WHAT WE DID IN CLASS TODAY:
We reviewed plot elements in the stories of Walton, Frankenstein, the creature.
We completed the following handout:

The deep suffering of loss is often accompanied by a sense of guilt. We wonder, even in the most innocent of circumstances, if we could have done something more to preserve the life of the beloved person or prevent the event. Victor's circumstances, of course, are not innocent. Find references to the following events and Frankenstein's reaction to them. Include chapters and page numbers, and record specific details. In the "judgment" column, indicate whether Victor deserves all, some, or none of the blame. Give reasons for your judgment.

Event (chapter and pages) Victor's Reaction Your Judgment
1. Victor creates a being that becomes a monster.

2. Victor rejects the creature once it comes to life.

3. William dies.

4. Justine dies.

5. Victor destroys the remains of the second creature.

6. Elizabeth dies.

HOMEWORK: Complete the worksheet. Prepare for timed writing on Friday.
