We began today looking at some of the footage of the boxing match between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali that took place in Zaire on October 30, 1974. We used this to practice writing using specific and sensory detail because that is what students should try to include in their classmate interview narratives/profiles. We then looked at two examples of profiles from the "Saturday Profile" in The New York Times. These are the links to those articles:

We then discussed the parameters of the interview narrative/profile assignment that is due on Monday. It should:
• be 350-500 words
• contain at least 3 direct quotes
• have a hook (or lead)
• have a title (or headline)
• include biographical data, physical description, sensory detail about a specific incident when your subject knew he/she was coming-of-age.
• submitted in typed work format
